Pooped

Today was day 2 of a 2-day training brick. It felt like day 7 of a 7-day training brick. Yesterday’s ride was tough, but I felt good and strong. Usually the 2nd day of a brick isn’t a big deal, but today I had nothing. Despite my best efforts to just “suck it up” I never really found a rhythm and my legs were pooped. Nothing like a day like this (where the whole time you are wondering: maybe I have low iron, or too much iron, or some kind of sore-leg disease…) to make you appreciate those days when you are feeling good and going fast.

The upside of today’s ride was that it was on dirt. That was literally the only saving grace since it was so windy I was actually blown off the trail a few times. The trails are in great shape- downright dusty and loose in some spots, but that last section of Blue Sky right before the tunnel (if you are heading north) is always enough to put a smile on my face. Looking forward to some rest and recovery.
