old

i’m old. went to see a concert the other night- del tha funkee homosapien LIVE! in fort collins. i was very excited. the show was supposed to start at 8 so i was there at 7:50 just to be sure i didnt miss anything good (1st sign of being old- you no longer care about being fashionably late). doors didn’t open until 8:30 and then we were treated to six opening acts- each one worse than the one before. i was holding out though- i was sure it would all be worth it in the end. but alas, it was not. finally at 11:30pm (2nd sign of being old- you can’t stop yawning and it’s not even midnight) i asked the bartender when del was coming out he said “12:15 and then he will play for one hour.”
ONE HOUR?

when i was a kid, bands would play for hours on end, they would play whole SETS.
“allright,” i thought “i can stick it out for another 45 mins” but when del came out, he was- well, not that funkee. then again, maybe my hearing is going.
