Madrid

We arrived in Madrid yesterday with just enough time to get out for a little spin. Our hotel was in an industrial area close to the airport, but after poking around a bit I found a park that I could ride around. The coolest thing about the park was that there were a few areas that had simple exercise machines (and not just dinky pull-up bars and sit-up benches), but machines similar to what you would find in a gym. It was pretty cool to see all sorts of people out exercising on a Wednesday afternoon.

Today we checked out the venue: a huge park in the middle of the city. It’s very green here right now, and the park has tons of trees in it. I haven’t ridden the course yet, but it looks hard-packed and very fast. Not sure what the temperature is supposed to be like, but it wasn’t too hot today. I’m getting excited for this weekend…
