MTB? In January? In Colorado?

Yep, that’s what I was thinking.  But hey, I’ll take it!  The last few days have been so warm that I was tempted to think that we’d seen the worst of winter.  But based on the forecast, my dreams will be shattered as we are supposed to get snow and temps down in the negatives (Tuesday’s high near zero? Really?  Zero?)  Well, it was great while it lasted: trails were dry — tacky even — and I actually rode in short sleeves and shorts.

The upside to the cold temps (did I just say “upside to cold temps”??) is that it will give me more chances to use my awesome new battery-powered gloves. Seriously, for winter training these things are the best. They were worth the $ the first time I had an enjoyable ride when temps were under 30.

I am really looking forward to the 2011 season. I’m super motivated and have been feeling great on the bike. (We’ll see how that trend continues when I put my winter clothes back on…)
